Multimedia SIG Productions

The Multimedia SIG sometimes collaborates on production of videos, and you can see some examples here.

  • Introduction To Multimedia A brief introduction to multimedia and the Multimedia SIG, prepared for the GVR Camera Club’s annual 10-week class, “Introduction to Photography“.
  • God Created Children  A fun SIG production for the 2012-2013 season.
  • Making Your Camera Perform   From the 2014-2015 season, the SIG produced this video to introduce prospective members to the activities, services, and facilities available at the GVR Camera Club.

Multimedia Three Minute Challenges
The Multimedia SIG uses the concept of a "Three Minute Challenge" to get our members thinking about techniques or approaches differently than they usually do. Sometimes, to make things interesting, there is a short time limit to produce a new video. In the past, the SIG has presented 3MC at Camera Club events as compilations.

  • Three Minute Challenge: General Subjects Edition  During the 2016-2017 Season, the SIG began experimenting with directed projects as a means to get it’s members to stretch their boundaries a bit and try new things. This first compilation was shown at the annual GVR Camera Club potluck dinner’s Showtime segment.
  •  Three Minute Challenge: Travel Subjects Edition  Another compilation of directed projects, this was shown at a GVR Camera Club Travelogue presentation.
  •  Three Minute Challenge: Black & White Edition  Another compilation of directed projects, this was shown at a GVR Camera Club Showtime presentation. Note: YouTube flagged this compilation for copyrighted music and two selections have their audio tracks muted.

GVR Camera Club Instructional Videos

During the 2016-2017 season the Multimedia SIG began production of instructional videos for the GVR Camera Club. We hope to be doing more of these!

2020 Green Valley Film Festival

The Multimedia SIG developed and presented the Green Valley Film Festival to showcase outstanding samples of video productions by members of the Green Valley Camera Club. The 3 one-hour segments have been lightly edited and are presented here. While the Film Festival was envisioned as an annual event, the Covid pandemic has postponed all such plans until 2022 at the earliest.

Member Videos

We are starting this section for videos by our members.

  • Behind the Scenes. (Video by Kevin May)  Kevin is still a working professional in the field of multimedia and he decided to share what goes into a video production by recording this video during a recent shoot for Caterpillar in Oregon and Washington. This short, 14-minute video generated a lengthy discussion during our July 12th SIG Zoom meeting!  (Links to video on YouTube.)
  • iRaku. (Video by Lavender Videos)  The Clay Studio of Green Valley, AZ has a small but active raku group. Raku is a semi-ancient Japanese form of pottery firing which can yield some interesting — if unpredictable — results!
  • Welcome to CPAC. (Video by Lavender Videos) The Community Performance and Art Center of Green Valley, AZ is an outstanding local venue for the arts. Filmed over the course of 9 months, this video provides background, current events, and plans for the future.
  • White Pocket (Video by Lavender Videos.)  Located in a remote part of the Paria Plateau, Arizona's "White Pocket" is a photographer's delight. While it is not easy to get there due to rough roads and deep sand, it is worth the effort.
