Colossal Cave Tour - Trip Cost $13
Last day to register is 2/28/18.
At 11:00 AM the 60 minute guided tour of Colossal Cave in Vail AZ begins. After the tour we will have lunch at the outdoor fresh cafe. Following lunch we are welcome to drive down to the ranch and photograph old stone buildings, flowers, birds and the landscape. You are free to leave after the tour if you are not interested in lunch.
Out of 385 reviews on trip advisor, Colossal Cave was rated 4 out of 5 stars. From the reviews: There are 360 stairs, but it is broken up and doable even if you are not in great shape. Definitely bring a water bottle and a flashlight. For clear pictures inside the cave, a tripod may be needed.
While it might be a challenge to take pictures in the cave itself, the Posta Quemada Ranch and Stables afford some great opportunities. The ranch is located at the site of the historic Mountain Springs Hotel and Stage Station. There is a butterfly garden in addition to the historic ranch.
The $13 cost does not include the price of lunch. There is no charge for visiting the ranch.
