Amerind Museum and Texas Canyon Nature Preserve -- Wednesday 3/12/2025

Please note time change - Meet at 8:00 a.m.

COST:  $10.00

Amerind seeks to foster and promote knowledge and understanding of the Native Peoples of the Americas through research, education, conservation, and community engagement. The museum has been updated and is filled with exhibits of Native American jewelry, pottery, and other artifacts. The video on the second floor concerning the life of Geronimo should not be overlooked.

Newly opened to the public, the Texas Canyon Nature Preserve is a photographer's dream. Featuring balanced rocks and rocky spires designed by Mother Nature, it is truly one of the greatest outdoor sculpture gardens in the world.  The trails are self-guided and provide clearly marked paths.

Additional information about the Amerind Museum is available here.

Participants are invited bring a lunch and enjoy the beautiful picnic area or to lunch in Benson on our return.

The museum offers free parking for its guests.  Individual cars may decide their departure time for returning to Green Valley.  Anyone needing a ride or would have room for an additional person or two should contact Jane Forster no later than March 3 to coordinate carpooling. For those carpooling, $15.00 is an appropriate contribution to the driver.
