Tucson Botanical Gardens (TBG) is a 5 1/2 acre collection of 17 gardens in the heart of Tucson. A true urban oasis, TBG was selected #4 in USA Today’s 10 Best Botanical Gardens Readers’ Choice Awards for 2023. Gardens include the Cactus & Succulent Garden, Barrio Garden, Children’s Garden, Herb Garden and many more that showcase the diversity of plants that can thrive in the Sonoran Desert. Tropical butterflies from around the world are featured in the Cox Butterfly & Orchid Pavilion from October through May. TBG offers rotating art displays, community classes, events and international exhibits.

Meet at the Photography Club at 8:45 AM for carpooling, departure at 9:00. Wear comfortable shoes for walking, a hat if needed, and bring water to drink. Please wear your GVR Photography Club or Camera Club badge, if you have one. For those carpooling, $5.00 is an appropriate contribution to the driver.

We will park at the Botanical Garden and gather at the entry pavilion where we will be met by Katie Rogerson, the garden's Educational Director, who with take us on a 30-45 minute guided tour.  Following the guided tour, you're welcome to explore the garden's many exhibits. Please note that tripods are not allowed in the butterfly exhibit.

We will go to the Blue Willow Restaurant and Gift Shop for lunch, where the trip will end about 2:00 PM.
